Woodland Hills is located in the West San Fernando Valley along the Southern rim. The communities of Tarzana and Calabasas border Woodland Hills. It is approximately 30 miles Northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Woodland Hills real estate encompasses both level and hilly terrain. Like most of the San Fernando Valley, the area started out as an agricultural community. Many of the fruit trees originally planted in the 1920’s and 1930’s still remain in the yards of local homes. Home prices in the area run from a range of $425,000 to well over a million dollars. The community has a population of 63,000 people and encompasses 14.6 square miles.

"I believe my background as a  licensed broker with college degrees in real estate and finance coupled with 18 years experience selling homes throughout the San Fernando Valley gives my clients a unique advantage."

Woodland Hills got its start in the early 1920’s thanks to the help of a colorful character named Victor Girrard. In 1922 Girrard bought up approximately 3000 acres of real estate. He then sub-divided this real estate into small lots and built cabins on them. The community was named Girrardland. In an attempt to lure people to this out lying area, he built a business district with rows of buildings with false fronts to convey the impression of a flourishing economy. For a while his "super community" did flourished. With the onset of the Depression, the community crumbled and Girrard went bankrupt. Today, in some areas South of Ventura Blvd. tiny Girrard cabins still exist. One of the individuals that came in and purchased real estate in Girrardland was Harry Warner of Warner Brothers Pictures. In 1941 the name Girrardland was changed to Woodland Hills. In the 1980’s the Warrner family liquidated 1,100 acres of property in Woodland Hills. A number of large corporations bought and developed this property into the master planned business development that has become known as Warner Center. Warner Center is considered the hub of Valley business, much like Century City is to Los Angeles. Warner Park is the site of the Valley Cultural Center's "Concerts in the Park" series, which showcases everything from folk and rock to jazz and big band music. Like the other communities along the Southern rim of the San Fernando Valley, Ventura Blvd. provides a multitude of restaurants and shopping opportunities. The Topanga Plaza and the Promenade malls offer additional shopping venues.
